EDI
Electronic data interchange (EDI) is the structured transmission of data between organisations by electronic means. It is so more than mere e-mail; for instance, organisations might replace bills of lading and even cheques with appropriate EDI messages. It also refers specifically to a family of standards, e.g. UN/EDIFACT, ANSI X12.
The internet has provided a means for any company, no matter how small or where they are located in the world, to become part of a major supply chain initiative hosted by a global retailer or manufacturing company.
eBECS can rapidly deploy a business-to-business infrastructure within your organisation that will allow you to exchange information electronically with your trading partners. It minimises cost by utilising existing internet connectivity and it serves to expand and improve your business-to-business relationships.
Please contact eBECS if you would like to know more.
