Methven UK Invests for Growth Ahead of New Product Launches

As part of its ambitious expansion strategy, global designer and manufacturer of premium showers and tapware, Methven UK has invested £500k in a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to support its continued growth and to improve customer service.

Newly appointed Methven IT Director, Rich Evans, stated that “As part of a global system strategy, Methven UK implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX, an integrated and agile business management solution seamlessly in April.  AX will enable the company to deliver improved visibility across the supply chain, offering retailers, merchants and distributors easier access to real-time stock availability, delivery dates and streamlined order processing with reduced transactional costs. “

The project was implemented by an internal Methven team with support from specialist Microsoft partner, eBECS, the UK Microsoft Dynamics Reseller of the Year.

The investment, which also forms part of Methven UK’s strategy to increase the brand’s share of the UK showering and tapware market, by offering superior, life-enhancing shower experiences and exceptional customer service,  comes ahead of a number of strategic product launches scheduled for later in the year.

Crucially, the new system will allow Methven UK to improve analysis and classification of its customers and products – enabling the company to tailor new products specifically for its diverse cross section of customers. 

As part of Methven UK’s Earthwise commitment to invest in greener IT platforms and technologies to reduce its carbon foot print and its ISO 14001 standard for Environmental Management Systems, the new system will give customers the option of moving away from paper to electronic documentation. 

Steve Lee, CEO of Methven UK, said: “This is a major investment for Methven UK and will enable us to be more agile and responsive to the needs of our customers.  We required a scalable ERP solution that supported our growth plans, managed our expanding product inventory and enabled us to be more reactive to changing market conditions.”
