The world of data analytics and Business Intelligence (BI) is growing at a rapid rate. Traditionally, businesses were happy to use data to make reactive decisions, such as “How many sales did we make for a given product in 2017”. This type of analysis is known as ‘Descriptive’. In today’s data driven world, answering reactive questions is not enough to improve business decision making. What if you we could start using predictive analytics or Artificial Intelligence to make proactive decisions?

In this session, eBECS will discuss the 4 different types of data maturity (Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive, Prescriptive) and how a business can leverage the various Advanced Analytics capabilities within Azure. The underlying platform facilitates technologies like DataBricks, which in turn, provide an environment for both data evangelists and data scientists to work collaboratively. We will also discuss real-time streaming, cognitive services and open source platforms compatible with Microsoft Azure.

The 45-minute introductory session is targeted at business decision makers, seeking a more intelligent approach to data analytics and BI. We will also share our experience of utilising advanced analytics in industries such as Manufacturing and Services.
