Understanding Microsoft Dynamics 365 PSA Data: Bookable Resource Characteristic: Importing/Setup bookable resource characteristics will allow you to assign multiple skills to bookable resources. It is the go-between entity that associates a bookable resource (an individual) with a characteristic (skill). If you were to manually do this, you would navigate to a bookable resource record and add it through the ‘Resource Skills’ sub grid.

The Importance of Bookable Resource Characteristics in PSA

- Most importantly, the entity bookable resource characteristic allows you to use characteristics and assign them to skills which is integral to resourcing. Without this entity you would not be able to use characteristics for their specific purpose.
- Bookable resource characteristics enable the user to assign a skill to a resource, which is then used in resource scheduling to ensure the correct resources with the appropriate skill set are booked on to a project i.e. you may compare resource’s skills when resourcing them.

- To import bookable resource characteristics, it is required you have already imported your bookable resources and characteristics (skills).
