The importance of Skills in PSA

Skills are used in several ways in PSA:

  • Booking requests are driven off the WBS, a Project Manager add additional skill requests to a request, and in the example below the Project Manager is requesting C #skills.
  • Skills are associated to a bookable resource to determine what skill set an individual has and what level of expertise they have for that skill. For example, as seen below the resource has been rated ‘good’ at ‘Accounting and Finance’ and ‘Proficient’ in ‘Agile Methodology’. This can then help decide what resource should be used for a project.
  • Resource Managers can view skills when they rollover a resource on the Find Resource view or the Resource Utilisation view and skills can be used as a filter on the board.
